Participant Accommodations

Accommodations for AMAM attendees will be provided by The Village at 115.

These newly-constructed facilities are vastly superior to the typical on-campus housing you may be familiar with. Each single-occupancy bedroom is lockable and contains a double-sized bed. Four to nine bedrooms comprise a suite that includes a living room and kitchen. There are two or more bathrooms in each suite. You may request that your colleagues be assigned to the same suite so that you can share the common areas with them. Other amenities in the building include the following:
All CWRU facilities are non-smoking, including accommodations at The Village.

We highly recommend staying at The Village during your time at the conference. We have secured a special rate for all conference attendees that is far less expensive than area hotels. The Village is also much closer than the area hotels, with campus shuttles allowing easy access to the entire campus. In addition, the poster sessions and Robot Zoo will be held in the lobby of The Village. We have designated the Village to be the center for discussion and interaction that will make this a successful conference.

Rates

Room: US$45 per night
Linens: US$20
Turndown Service: US$20 each (optional)
Access Key: One time US$15 fee
Lost Key Replacement: US$25

These fees will be covered by the conference for keynote and plenary speakers, but you should still register for housing at the link below.

You may place your reservations at the Village at 115 reservation page. Each guest must register individually, even if you are requesting to share a suite with a specific person or people. Please note that we will try to accommodate all group requests but cannot guarantee this. Your group may have additional suite mates. Payment is due when you check in.

Getting to Case and Getting Around

Download a map of the campus here. On this map, we have marked where you should go to register for the conference, the parking location for visitors, and other important conference locations. We have also posted a PDF file that you may print out and show to a cab driver; it provides directions directly to the place where you need to register, and a phone number you can call, including one that will work after regular business hours.

Download a map with directions to campus here. This map is suitable for printing out and showing to a taxi driver.

Taxi transportation from the airport to the university costs approximately $40. Be sure to use only the licensed, registered taxis in the taxi line at the airport. Do not ride with independent cars who offer to save you money.

If you wish to take a shuttle from Cleveland Hopkins Airport rather than a taxi, you may do so if you can find others to join you at the airport. If you wish to reserve a shuttle spot before you come to Cleveland, information about shuttles can be found here.

It is also possible to take the RTA light rail public transit system from the airport to the University Circle station on the Red Line. The RTA fare is only $2. After collecting your baggage in the baggage claim area, take the escalator down from the center of baggage claim, and the entrance to the airport RTA station will be to your left as you get off the escalator. On Saturday, 31-May and Sunday, 1-June , from 9AM to 6PM ONLY, the AMAM conference will operate a shuttle service from the RTA University Circle station to the AMAM registration location. The number to call (from the airport) for this shuttle service is 1-216-212-5906 . Please allow at least 45 minutes for the RTA trip from the airport to the University Circle station. Do not get off at the stop after Terminal Tower (labeled "Campus"); this is for Cleveland State University, which is several miles away from CWRU. You should use a taxi or a shuttle, not the RTA, if you arrive in the evening. Have them drive you directly to the registration site (Wade Commons), or the lecture site (Schmitt Lecture Hall) if you are trying to attend the evening lectures.

If you are planning to drive to the University, instructions can be found here.

The street address for registration for both the conference and housing is:
Wade Commons, 11451 Juniper Rd., Cleveland, OH, 44106.
The street address for the lectures is:
Schmitt Lecture Hall, 2080 Adelbert Road, Cleveland, OH, 44106.

The phone number for registration is (216) 368-1010.
After hours, you may call (216) 650-8947.

If you plan to park in the visitor Parking Lot S-46, you need to let us know as soon as possible (the website will soon provide a method for informing us about this).

The garage next to the conference housing (S-46) has a weekly pass that costs $16, if reserved and guaranteed in advance. The cost will be $10 per day if purchased after arrival . There are two parking garages closer to the site of the lectures: one at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital, across and down the street from 2080 Adelbert Road (Hovorka Atrium/ Schmitt Lecture Hall), and lot S-53 at the intersection of Adelbert Road and Circle Drive. These locations cost approximately $2 per hour or $10 a day.

The walk from the housing to the lectures should take 15 minutes across the campus. You may use the free campus shuttles that are provided by Case and by University Circle, but these do not closely follow the conference time schedule. More information about these shuttles can be found here.

Case Western Reserve University is an urban campus. During the day, it is perfectly safe to walk anywhere in the immediate vicinity of the campus shown on the map posted on the website. After regular business hours, however, please use good judgment. If you need an escort to go from one place to another, or for any other reason need to reach security, call (216) 368-3333.
